The organ was built by
Hill in 1871 and extended as a three manual by them in 1880. Their
work included providing the overhang over the console into the
chancel with 'additional front pipes' and the addition of stops by
adding clamps for the Great Harmonic Piccolo and Swell Mixture and
Vox Angelica.
