The heart of this organ is the fine H N & B organ of the 1950’s, a transitional period between romantic and neo-classical. The specification is interesting and effective, the actions electric, and based on sliderless chests. The organ was caseless until our work and inspired by Holtkamp organs of the USA. The console is the elegant comfortable and well equipped H N & B.

Age caught up with the switching and electro pneumatics.

Flies loved the exposed pipework and regularly upset speech.

The golden opportunity to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the convent and the 50th of the organ and west end extension of the Chapel lead to our designing and making this fine oak case and to our renovation and enhancement of the organ. The pipe shades, also made in our workshops, reflect cyclamen around the cross; they also show the date - 2005. The Vox Celeste and Clarinet we added; for the stopped flute we extended the Bourdon rank, and the Flute 4 we derived from the existing Stopped Diapason and Flageolet rank.
