We removed this 1871 Hill organ from St. Phillip's Church, Battersea in 1992, restored it and then erected on the extended gallery of Reading School Chapel in 1993. We had to be clever to rework the organ around the roof beam which passes through the great organ.

The work has included the restoration of cone tuning and the reprovision of a tracker pedal action, together with the repolishing of the casework and regilding of the facade pipes. The organ retains its original straight pedal board, combination action and trigger swell pedal. The great mixture has been completed to IV ranks as originally 'prepared for'. This manual action was restored as Hill made it, and is somewhat heavy when the Swell to Great Octave and Swell to Great Sub Octave are used!
